How do I Auto Update? (version 3 customers)

If you are a version 3 customer, you can Auto Update by simply running the Desktop Companion while connected to the Internet.  Then, the next time you synchronize your PocketPC to your Desktop PC, the update will be transferred to your PocketPC, and automatically installed.  (You must have files checked for synchronization on ActiveSync).

What are the differences between the ObGynPocketPro and the ObGynPocketPro Lite?

ObGynPktProLite is our older small program without any patient database features. We are leaving it available to you on a limited basis because it is the only version that will run on an older PocketPC 2000 and 2002 device. If you have a PocketPC 2003 device or higher, we highly recommend you use our newer more feature rich ObGynPocketPro version 3.

What is ObTech's Refund Policy?

Software: A full purchase refund on software will be allowed up to 30 days after the activation of the software.  The software can be activated before, during or after payment.  After the 30 days of activation, no refunds will be granted.  (Note: For the lite version there is no activation so refund is allowed up to 30 days from the date of purchase)

Subscription Fee's: There will be no refund on any subscription fees.

Hardware: ObTech will not refund the price of preloaded PocketPC's.  They will be tested during installation of the software and are therefore fully functional.  If your device is damaged during shipment, refuse the device from the shipping company.  Hardware vendors generally allow transfer of ownership, and generally allow refund of their PocketPC's for 30 days, though you must confer directly with the hardware manufacturer regarding refunds.

How do I Print?

You can print wirelessly via Infrared (IR), WiFi, or Bluetooth.  Currently the easiest to set up is IR due to its ubiquity.  Many HP printers have and IR port in the front (the black plastic window) and you simply point it at the printer to set it up.  For WiFi, you must know the network name of your "networked" printer.  For Bluetooth, you need only be in proximity to the printer to set it up.  Finally, you can use Export Notes to automatically have the notes copied to your directory on your synced desktop.  Then, use the ObTech Notes Viewer (installed at the time you installed the program) on your desktop to find and view the encrypted file.  You can then copy/paste to your EMR, or print the file out.

The print engine for ObGynPocketPro was formerly created by HP, but has been recently upgraded to PocketPrint.  You can get more information on wireless printing here.

WiFi Printing was working, now its not

Check your IP address - since you are using hospital printers, they may have changed the IP address without your knowing.  See here to review more about printing.

Why doesn't my registration number work?

The Registration number is based on your Owner Name on your PocketPC.  (You can access the Owner name by Windows->Settings->Owner Information->Name).  If there is any variation in the spelling from the name you provided when you purchased the program, the code will not work.  For example, if you follow your name with MD, or use different capital letters, that is enough difference to invalidate the code.  Please email support@obtecorp.com your exact Owner Name and we will provide you with the correct code.

Which software will work with my Pocket PC?

Both ObGynPocketPro and ObGynPocketLite will run on Pocket PC 2003 or 2003SE.  (Windows Mobile 5 support is now supported!)

Why do some features run slow or intermittently?

The initial loading of information takes some time (especially the Coding). After you use it once, it is loaded into your PocketPC’s memory, and will run instantly afterward. The best workaround to this problem is to leave the program running at all times, then you won't experience the initial long load time. Also, see question below if you have a PocketPC 2002 device.

ObGynPocketPro is installed. Why doesn't it run?

Be sure to specify your owner settings for your Pocket PC. ObGynPocketPro will not run if that is left blank.

How do I know if I own a PocketPC 2003, PocketPC 2003 SE, or Windows Mobile 5?

Option 1: Look in your owner's manual J

Options 2: Select Settings, About.  In the About box of your PocketPC, it will tell you Windows CE 3.xx (which means PocketPC 2002), or Windows CE 4.20.xxxx (which means PocketPC 2003), or Windows CE 4.21.xxxx (which means PocketPC 2003 SE) - Note, the PocketPC 2003 SE, (Second Edition), is brand new, so your device must have been purchase no earlier than June 2004.

Option 3: Look here for a list of currently selling devices.  Microsoft is now calling it Windows Mobile Windows Mobile 2003 and Windows Mobile 5.
